Another addition to the Larussa farm!s
Yes, you read that correctly. We currently have 5 goats, 3 cats, (one of whom is missing in action) one dog, and.....a chicken! Yes, today we have just acquired a chicken. Mom and Dad went to look at a chicken coop on craigslist since we have so many grasshoppers, and came back with one little chicken. We don't have a name for her yet, but I'll post as soon as we do!

The kids have arrived!
This week has been sooo crazy! Our church had VBS all week so everyone has been very tired. But Mom decided to get the baby goats (kids) yesterday and they are here! We now have five goats, Chloe, Gwendolyn, Lydia, and the new kids, Zorro and Zeli. They are part Lamancha, and Nubian with a little bit of Sonnen. Unfortunately, we will have to sell Zach in about 3 months so that he won't get our other goats pregnant. :( Anyway, enough talking. Without further ado, I now present Zeli and Zorro!
This is Chloe, Zorro and Zeli's mommy. That's Zeli nursing.
There's Chloe again, with Zorro. Zeli is hiding behind Zorro.
Here's my little sister Abigail with Zorro.
Here's yours truly holding Zeli.
Well, that's about it. Country gal, signing off!

Our garden!
When we first moved to our new house in Sanger, it was mid April and we didn't think we'd be able to grow much in our garden. We gave it a shot and planted blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, basil, dill, peppers, tomatoes, zucchinis, squash, watermelon, kale, okra, and green beans. Some of these plants won't produce until next year, like the berries.
Here is a picture of our garden. That pile is our compost.
This is squash and zuchinni.
These are our tomatoes.
This is butternut squash, okra, and a tomato plant that got stuck there. :)
These are the peppers, watermleon, basil, dill and some other stuff.
We made our garden by putting a length of wood across from the haybales. Then we put stones in front.
I'll post some pictures of our fresh veggies soon too! Stay tuned.
